EDKP SERIES
The RX, built in a 1HE rack cabinet, is composed by a down converter section, an IRD for DVB-S/S2 standards and a TS adaptation board for SFN compatibility. An optional external 1HE demodulator is required for analog Audio-Video outputs. The system can be provided both as indoor and outdoor units. For the outdoor configuration, RF modules are fixed in waterproof boxes which can be mounted at the rear of parabolic antennas. The external head is connected to the internal cabinet by a single coaxial cable which passes the RF signal and the power supply.
The new EDKP series of DVB-S/S2 microwave links is developed for the distribution of digital signals in DTV networks supporting MFN and SFN modes.
Superior performances, tested reliability and simplicity of installation are their principal characteristics. The system is available in several frequency ranges from 1.5 to 14.5 GHz, with different output powers and it is useful for individual point-to-point links as well as for complete distribution networks.
In case of SFN operation the link recognizes the MIP packet insertion: the modulator provides packet signature and, on the RX site, the system extracts it for the appropriate use.
The TX is built in a 3HE cabinet integrating plug-in digital modulator (ASI input) and the other transmission modules. The modulation can be selected between DVB-S and DVB-S2 standards. The FEC and the symbol rate settings can be easily programmed using backlit display or by USB port on the front panel.
For particular difficult connections, a series of external solid-state amplifiers, including high-power ones, is also available.
